Not everyone has something positive to say about Natural Cellular Defense. In fact, there are individuals who criticize the supplement. In this article, we will discuss and explore some of the criticisms.
Some people claim that Natural Cellular Defense actually causes cancer. This is primarily due to the crystalline structure of zeolite , and its’ effects on the lungs when it is inhaled into the body. Critics compare zeolite crystals to those of asbestos. Asbestos cuts up the tissues in the lungs and burrows into them, impairing lung function, which can eventually cause cancer. Supporters of Natural Cellular Defense defends the supplement by pointing out that NCD is not inhaled, but instead is a liquid, so it will never reach the lungs in the way mentioned above and zeolite has never been proven to be harmful. In fact, zeolite is on the FDA’s Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) list. The list specifically states that Zeolite is non-toxic and is exempt from any federal regulations.
Zeolite is a crystalline structure similar to other minerals and amino acids that we take in everyday. For example, spinach and silica both have crystalline structures and are considered safe. Preliminary studies also refute the notion that Natural Cellular Defense actually causes cancers. In a 14 month trial, that used NCD to treat cancer patients who were at stage four of their disease. Seven patients died but 78% of patients went into full remission during that time. While this certainly does not suggest that NCD cures cancer, it does suggest that more studies should be done to test its’ effectiveness on such diseases.
Another argument against NCD is that there is a lack of real evidence and research that the supplement really works. The company has always maintained that all studies performed have only been preliminary and that more research needs to be done to further support many of the supplement’s successes. However, there is no denying that the studies that have been performed, even while small, still have proven that NCD has been effective.
A third commonly used argument is that Natural Cellular Defense is quack science at its’ best. Many people automatically dismiss any medicine that is not traditional Western medicine. However, there are many natural supplements that do indeed aid in good health. There are also many of countries who don’t practice medicine that Westerners do and experience much lower rates of chronic disease, sickness and death.
While there are indeed some critics of Natural Cellular Defense, there are many other individuals who absolutely believe in Natural Cellular Defense and back it 100%. The individuals who oppose NCD have three major arguments. The first being that NCD doesn’t fight cancer, but instead causes it, secondly, critics site a lack of research and third, those that believe that any non-traditional medicine is quack science. NCD has some rebuttals of their own. They argue that while the supplement can indeed benefit from more study, it doesn’t take away from the research that has already done. Secondly, there is no evidence that NCD causes cancer. In fact it is listed on the FDA’s Generally Recommended As Safe (GRAS) list. Thirdly, non-traditional medicine does not equal quack medicine. There are plenty of non-Western medicinal practices that are very successful in treating and preventing disease.
